  Short Biography of
Reverend Lawrence T. Foster

Reverend Lawrence T. Foster was born and nurtured where “little cable cars climb halfway to the stars” – San Francisco, California.   He received his undergraduate education at Morehouse College and his graduate and post-graduate theological education at Harvard University Divinity School. Currently, he is celebrating ministry at Calvary Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan where he has served as senior pastor since 1994.  Additionally, Reverend Foster serves as Director of Community Development for the United Methodist Retirement Communities’ Boulevard Temple Continuing Care Center, a skilled nursing facility and an emerging senior retirement community in Detroit, and as Mayoral Appointee, Virginia Park-Henry Ford Hospital Non Profit Housing Corporation Board of Directors. He is immediate past President of the Midwest Region, Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. 

Reverend Foster loves God, people and nature. The Scripture that orders his life is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thy own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
